Christmas Dinner at Work

December 16th, 2004

Aperatif: Champagne with a raspberry.

Entree: Foie gras with some sort of fruit chutney.

Plat: Five-spiced venison steak with autumn vegetables and mashed potatoes, with red wine.

Cheese: Brie, and Bleu d’Auvergne

Dessert: A yule log, with a little silver plastic saw in it.

Coffee, with a madeleine. Always makes me remember Proust.

I can’t believe I wasn’t invited! I can’t believe I have to ask what Frois Gras is every time I see it. I can’t believe that cheese is a separate dish. I just can’t believe…that is my sole problem…a complete lack of belief.

Muchos love, can’t wait to see you…soy chai lattes all around!

Foie Gras is the fattened liver of a goose or duck, sliced and served on toast. It’s a controversial food because it involves being cruel to animals.

In order to have a properly distended and fatty liver, you need to forcefeed the bird — literally stuffing it alive with food. I saw it on TV and it made be ill.

On the other hand, foie gras is very tasty, and geese are nasty animals.

I tried to send you an email, Kwerkie — do you think you can get in touch with me?

    Hiya
My emails won’t go through either! I can be reached at wishing_u_well@hotmail.com MSN and all that jazz on there too.
I keep trying to send to tinfoiled@passport.net and it bounced back saying undeliverable. It also won’t let me add that one to MSN contacts saying it is not a passport account. very odd.

I’ll also be in touch with Lady K so if this fails then I will still hopefully be able to get your info through her :)
    Can’t wait to see you!!!
